This is the redwood hike I’d pick when you want something that feels special without committing to a huge loop. The creek, bridges, and shade keep kids interested, and you can simply turn around when everyone has had enough.
Before you go
Use the Purisima Creek Road entrance for the gentler creek-side start, but arrive early—the lot has only a handful of spaces. Expect some short steeper grades, poison oak along trail edges, no dogs, and no trash cans.
